Rainfall Triggered Slope Instability Analysis with Changing Climate

چکیده
Slope instability triggered by rainfall is common in tropical countries like India, where the soil of hill slopes are generally unsaturated condition, having higher strength than saturated condition due to matric suction. This study aims investigate change pore water pressure (PWP) with infiltration into slope and corresponding effect stability on different from regions India. Rainfall-triggered slope instabilities under a changing climate: comparative study using historical and projected precipitation extremes
This study aims to quantitatively assess the impact of extreme precipitation events under current and future climate scenarios on landslides. Rainfall-triggered landslides are analyzed primarily using extreme precipitation estimates, derived using the so-called stationary assumption (i.e., statistics of extreme events will not vary significantly over a long period of time). However, extreme pre...

This spectacular “blue marble” image is the most detailed true-color image of the entire Earth to date. Using a collection of satellite-based observations, scientists and visualizers stitched together months of observations of the land surface, oceans, sea ice, and clouds into a seamless, true-color mosaic of every square kilometer (.386 square mile) of our planet. These images are freely avail...
متن کاملA sensitive slope: estimating landscape patterns of forest resilience in a changing climate
Changes in Earth’s environment are expected to stimulate changes in the composition and structure of ecosystems, but it is still unclear how the dynamics of these responses will play out over time. In long-lived forest systems, communities of established individuals may be resistant to respond to directional climate change, but may be highly sensitive to climate effects during the early life st...
متن کاملElastic-instability triggered pattern formation.
Recent experiments have exploited elastic instabilities in membranes to create complex patterns. However, the rational design of such structures poses many challenges, as they are products of nonlinear elastic behavior. We pose a simple model for determining the orientational order of such patterns using only linear elasticity theory which correctly predicts the outcomes of several experiments....
متن کاملAnalysis of Streamflow Changes under Climate Change Using Rainfall-Runoff Model in the Kor River Basin
Abstract In this study, the predicted monthly temperature and rainfall data from HadCM3 model (base period, ۱۹۷۲-۲۰۰۱) and next period (۲۰۱۱-۲۰۴۰) under A2emission scenario were used to investigate the impacts of climate change on runoff variations in the Kor river basin. HadCM3 model output was downscaled based on a temporal downscaling approach (Change Factor) and spatial downscaling appro...
